For dentists and dental practices
Accountant for Dentists & Dental Professional Corporations
Accounting for a dental practice means running payroll for hygienists and staff, tracking equipment and associate fees, and planning how you pay yourself from your professional corporation. Most dental services are HST-exempt, which changes how costs are recorded. We handle the books and tax for dentists in Brampton, Mississauga and the GTA.

What we see most often
You run a busy chair all day. Your corporation needs a plan too.
Four common problems, and what we do about each one.
- The problem
HST on costs can't be recovered.
Most dental services are exempt, so the practice usually can't claim HST paid on its costs. Some cosmetic services can be taxable.
The solutionHST handled correctly
We check which of your services are exempt or taxable and record costs to match.
- The problem
Savings are building up in the corporation.
Once passive investment income passes $50,000 a year, the small business limit starts to shrink.
The solutionA check on corporate investments
We show where you stand against that level and explain the options in plain words.
- The problem
Equipment purchases are big and lumpy.
Chairs, imaging and technology each have their own capital cost rules.
The solutionEquipment claimed correctly
Purchases and leases set up properly, with the tax effect explained before you buy.
- The problem
Payroll for staff takes your time.

ANSWERS BEFORE YOU START
Common questions.
General information, not tax advice for your situation. Book 15 minutes to talk about yours.
Can a dentist incorporate in Ontario?
Yes, through a professional corporation, which needs a certificate of authorization from the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario. Your lawyer handles the set-up.
Do you work with associates as well as owners?
Yes. We help associates with their own books, tax and, where they have one, their corporation.
Is the doctors' 50% offer available to dentists?
That offer is for incorporated physicians. For dentists we quote in writing based on your practice.
Do you only work in Brampton?
Our office is at 181 Queen St E, Brampton. We also work with practices across the GTA on Teams.
